Mayor: Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike
He was born in 1967 in Obio-Akpor, Rivers State, Nigeria. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from RSUT before proceeding to Law School in 1997. Wike holds a Master of Arts degree in Political and Administrative Studies from RSUT. He has been the two-term Executive Chairman of Obio Akpor Local Government Area, Minister of State for Education throughout the years, then he has been appointed as the minister of the FCT on 16 August 2023.
Abuja is the capital of Nigeria and lies in the central part of the county, in the Federal Capital Territory.
